Pennsylvania coronavirus update: New omicron variant up tenfold in a month, now about one-third of state’s cases; 4,224 infections reported this week

While overall numbers continue to decline in Pennsylvania, the portion of cases accounted for by the new BA.2 omicron subvariant is up ten times since February, now accounting for almost one-third of all cases. There were 4,224 cases reported this week, and 169 deaths.
