For decades, countless residents and officials have likened turning left onto Race Street from Lehigh Street in Catasauqua to taking one’s life into their hands. Borough officials gave the go-ahead Monday night to allow PennDOT to go out to bid for the project, which involves widening roads and putting traffic lights at Race’s intersections with Lehigh, Front and Second Streets.
