The borough of Bangor, an old Slate Belt town abandoned by industry, has long been dotted with empty or junk-filled storefronts. That’s turning around with a project called “Beautify Bangor,” through which local artists have completed nearly 25 murals already in the small downtown, making it the destination it hasn’t been in decades.
