Allentown reopened Irving Pool at noon Saturday, after vandals forced the city to close the pool Friday.Picnic tables and trash cans were thrown into the pool, which is on the city’s East Side, and an oily substance was poured into it, the city said in a news release.Crews used absorbent pads to remove the film and then scrubbed the pools walls, the release said.Allentown police are investigating.All Allentown city pools’ regular hours are noon to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
