Heavy rain possible again in the Lehigh Valley this weekend from another storm

Another rainy Sunday is expected again in the Lehigh Valley this weekend.
The National Weather Service said a strong system will likely bring heavy rain and strong winds as it makes its way through the area Sunday afternoon into Monday.
The weather service is expecting anywhere from 1½ to 3 inches of rain to fall from the storm.
This could cause flooding of creeks and streams as well. The weather service said because the ground is already saturated from last weekend’s rain, there is a risk of flooding, especially if heavier rain falls during a shorter period of time.
The rain could affect the commute Monday as it continues into the morning.
Temperatures are expected to be above freezing throughout the storm. Snow and other winter precipitation are not expected.
Sunday’s rain comes just one week after another storm hit the area. Rain fell most of Sunday into Monday morning in the Lehigh Valley. Officials estimated about 2 inches of rain fell throughout the region during that time period.
The storm ended Monday morning with light snow, however there was no significant accumulation. There has not been any significant snowfall this season so far.
Friday and Saturday will be sunny with high temperatures in the 50s. Following the storm Sunday and Monday, temperatures will drop to the high 30s and low 40s.
