East Penn whooping cough cases reach 17, making it the only school district in state with an outbreak

With a new case of whooping cough this week at Emmaus High School, the outbreak of whooping cough in the East Penn School District continues, reaching 17 cases. The Pennsylvania Health Department says it’s the only school district to experience an outbreak. The numbers have pushed Lehigh County to record the state’s high number of pertussis cases.
