Following the lead of the federal and state governments, Allentown is extending the deadline for paying business privilege taxes three months to July 15 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is also extending the discount period for early payment of real estate taxes one month in order to “provide financial relief to property owners during this uncertain time.” Property owners who pay taxes on or before May 5 are eligible for a 2% discount on the tax portion of their 2020 bill.
