Easton Hospital continues to struggle, 18 years after being purchased by a for-profit health system. Steward Health Care, its current owner, says the hospital in Wilson can be turned around if it focuses on common procedures. With that in mind, Steward cut the hospital’s cardiac services and closed its neonatal intensive care unit. Now it is focusing on luring back patients who fled to competitors St. Luke’s University Health Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network.
