Unemployment claims hit 41 million as states struggle to reopen during coronavirus crisis

Another 2.1 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week, bringing the total to more than 41 million who have sought aid since March as the coronavirus forced employers to close and sent the economy into a deep recession, even as states struggle to restart battered economies.
