The Wawa convenience store in Lower Nazareth Township will soon expand its size and food options, and possibly even provide sidewalks along Route 248.Supervisors Wednesday passed a resolution approving Wawa’s plan to expand its 4,100-square-foot store at 3820 Nazareth Road by nearly 1,100 square feet and provide more kitchen space and food choices. The expansion will modernize the store ― built during the 2009 economic downturn ― so it’s “more consistent with the new Wawas being built,” said Chris MacLean, an attorney representing the stop-and-go.Wawa will need to secure a permit from PennDOT in order to construct the sidewalk, said Lori Seese, the township’s planning and zoning administrator.
