Allentown City Council has decided now is not the ideal time to vote on a proposed revision to the city’s ethics code that would require city employees, and possibly elected officials, to resign before running for mayor, city council or controller. Council’s rules committee on Monday tabled the “resign-to-run” bill following a debate over its merits and timing, and amid accusations of political gamesmanship.
